I met Daniel Johnston in Golden Apple Comics in Los Angeles one day as he was getting a whole stack of Captain Marvel comics from the 70's (the blonde Marvel Comics Captain Marvel, not the "Shazam" guy, just in case you were wondering). His singing voice sounds like a crazy persons, which is why I like him and this toy was created. There's probably also a bit of that old Hanna Barbera show "Wheelie and The Chopper Bunch" in there, but it was only years later when Cartoon Network began playing those toons again that I realized where I had seen something like this toy before.
