My friend Adam thought this and Naked Girl With Epoxy up after a week long fever. He was crazy back then. According to him, the chicken HAD to be a plastic drumstick that we needed to steal, since it was more "punk rock" that way. We ripped open a cheap, plastic toy set at Newberrys and made the thing in a few minutes. Adam told me the history of P-Chicken, saying it was originally 39¢, but he made me make this version 49¢. No idea why.

FAKE HISTORY: During the early punk shows at Gilman Theatre in Berkeley in 1979, many of the violent punk rockers were known to throw chicken parts at themselves during the concerts. This became such a problem and left such a mess that local punker Adam B created the classic P-Chicken, a plastic, cheap, unedible replication of a chicken leg that can be used for whatever anyone can think of to use it for. Sold for only 39 cents at Gilman, P-Chicken not only solved the food mess but became an instant classic. Marketed to record shops next, P-Chicken caught the eye of salesman Jim Underpand who took it to stores Nationally. The slogan "P-Chicken! P-Food? P-No! P-Play! P-Yes! P-Wow!" Became a household jingle when it was introduced on a commercial in 1985. Just remember: DON'T EAT!
